Ceremony
We are planning to hold our ceremony in the Sequoia National Forest near a trailhead in the Princess Campground. If there is heavy snow this winter then this location will change. To get there you travel through Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park, about 2 hours from Fresno. There are park entrance fees ($35 per car) and limited parking, so we will need to coordinate carpools. The trailhead opens to a beautiful meadow, where we are planning to exchange vows. The meadow is sensitive, so being mindful of this, we are not setting up chairs and will stay near a trail. But, if you need a chair, let us know and we will bring one for you. The trail is paved, but worn and uneven in places and the distance from parking to this location will be less than a quarter of a mile.
We recommend allowing some time to see the giant sequoias on the way to the ceremony. They are breathtaking and remarkable and are true treasures. A quick detour to see General Grant and other giant trees would take about an hour. Allow more time to walk through some of the longer hikes.
The temperatures in April in this part of the mountains are often 40-55 F, but this can vary a lot each year. Check the weather in Sequoia National Park for the forecast on April 24th.During the ceremony, we ask all guests to dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather so that you enjoy your time outdoors. This may seem difficult to juggle with "proper wedding attire" so, we added some images below to give an impression of many styles that all look great in wedding photos.
